2025 Chair & Officers

John Pearce is our new Chairman for 2025. John is a retired Fish & Chip shop proprietor (The Jolly Good Cafe). John was fostered as a child and left school aged 15, going to live on the streets of London. He found work in a Chip Shop and has been ‘in the business’ ever since. Having dementia, John is known about Teignmouth for his fund raising for our local Alzheimer’s group, particularly an annual charity darts match with teams from local businesses.

His supporting team for the year is Keith Underhill as (Vice-Chairman – second time), John Polley continues as (Secretary), Les Owen (Treasurer), Steve Shore (Committee Member 1) Steve Williams (Committee Member 2). Chris Inch (Speaker Finders) with Rick Purnell continues as (Press Officer & Webmaster), Registrars David Clark  & John Kay and Alistair Tennett as Hon. auditor.

Chris Inch has arranged a full programme of speakers for our twice a month meetings at Richard Newton Hall Community Centre unless otherwise stated in the programme pages.
