Following upon the Charity Darts match held at the King’s Arms last month, Teignmouth Probus Club’s David Head, the darts team captain, presented cheques to Amanda De Silva from the proceeds of the event -£200 to Alzheimer’s and £219 to Volunteering in Health. Amanda gave a short address to say how the funds would be put to good use.

The meeting was then entertained by speaker Norman Maudsley with an extensive slide show and commentary about his fascinating 2014 adventure into the Burma interior (Myanmar) from Yangon to Mandalay, the culture, food and of the indigenous people, particularly walking the Chin Hills towards the Chinese borderlands,
